The Company:

Walker Sime delivers multidisciplinary construction consultancy across real estate, regeneration and infrastructure, bringing commercial precision, strategic oversight, and global capability to every project.

Objectives

The primary objective of the Walker Sime website reskin was to modernise the existing site while staying faithful to the new visual direction provided by their design team. The goal was to deliver a cleaner, more engaging experience that better reflects Walker Sime’s brand, services, and professional positioning.

As part of this, FUZE Digital was responsible for translating the supplied design files into a fully functioning WordPress build, ensuring the site is fast, accessible, and easy for the Walker Sime marketing team to update.

Scope of Work

The project focused on a full front‑end reskin rather than a structural rebuild. Key deliverables included:

  • Implementing the supplied XD design across all core templates.
  • Re‑theming global elements including the header, footer, typography, colour palette, and components.
  • Ensuring compatibility with the existing WordPress theme structure and WPBakery layout.
  • Updating layouts where required to accommodate styling limitations without compromising the integrity of the design.
  • Conducting a full content and image pass to align with the new visual direction.
  • Providing testing, refinements, and handover support.

Design Requirements

The Walker Sime design team supplied an approved UI direction, and FUZE executed the build with the following requirements:

  • Accurate implementation of new brand styling and updated visual hierarchy.
  • Consistency across all pages, ensuring typography, spacing, and visual balance match the design intent.
  • Integration of updated iconography and imagery once provided by the marketing team.
  • Preservation of existing content structures while elevating the presentation layer.
  • Ensuring templates remain flexible enough for future content management needs.

Responsive Design

As part of the reskin, the entire website was re‑evaluated for responsiveness across mobile, tablet, and desktop breakpoints.

Key considerations included:

  • Ensuring the new design translated cleanly to smaller screens without layout conflicts.
  • Testing all interactive elements, including menus, sliders, and cards, for touch‑friendly behaviour.
  • Optimising image delivery for performance across all devices.
  • Making template adjustments where the original theme had limitations in mobile behaviour.
